Step 1 - Associate Pro Accreditation

Prerequisites: Criminal Records Check, Sport Integrity Program, Curling Skills*

*Although they do not need to have strong competitive resumes, Associate Pro candidates are still expected to be capable curlers with the ability to demonstrate sound delivery and sweeping skills.

 

Online Courses: Asynchronous (June and July)

  • The ACP and LTCD
  • Technical Development 1
  • Tactical Development 1
  • NCCP Teaching and Learning
  • Club Programming 1

In-Person Training: (August)

  • Associate Pro Training Camp (East or West)*

*Note: Business of Curling will be taught during this Training Camp.

Evaluation: Portfolio Project 1, Making Ethical Decisions (MED) Test

Outcomes: Associate Pro Accreditation, Competition Coach (Trained)

Step 2 - (Option A) Club Pro Accreditation

Prerequisites: Associate Pro Accreditation, Education/Experience*

*A post-secondary degree or diploma in business, sport administration, or recreation management is recommended, but candidates with relevant work and/or volunteer experience will also be accepted.

 

Online Courses: Asynchronous (November to March)

  • Club Finance
  • Club Operations
  • Club Marketing
  • Club Programming 2
  • Curling Coordination

Online Workshops: Synchronous (April and May)

  • Club Pro Workshops (Half-Day) *

*Note: Strategic Planning will be taught during these Workshops.

Evaluation: Portfolio Project 2, Career Planning

Outcome: Club Pro Accreditation

Step 2 - (Option B) Teaching Pro Accreditation

Prerequisites: Associate Pro Accreditation, Competitive Credentials*

*To ensure the necessary credibility with employers and clients, Teaching Pro candidates must have appropriate Competitive Credentials or must take additional training (see details in Teaching Pro Curriculum).

 

Online Courses: Asynchronous (November to March)

  • Technical Development 2
  • Tactical Development 2
  • ACP Teaching and Learning
  • Club Programming 2
  • Curling Coordination

In-Person Training: (March or April)

  • Teaching Pro Training Camp (East or West) *

*Note: ACP Performance Analysis will be taught during this Training Camp.

Evaluation: Portfolio Project 2, Career Planning, NCCP Practice Evaluation

Outcome: Teaching Pro Accreditation, Competition Coach (Certified)

Step 3 - Master Pro Accreditation

Prerequisites: Club or Teaching Pro Accreditation, Pro Experience*

*Candidates must have 5 years of verified work experience as a Club or Teaching Pro. They must also complete 5 Professional Development (PD) courses from their own specialization.

Note: Master Pros are encouraged to take on ACP Leadership Roles as needed.
