Online Courses

Club Programming 2
This course builds on Club Programming 1 by examining how clubs can serve curlers across Curling Canada’s LTCD Model. Registrants will then learn about the specific programming guidelines for youth and adult curlers on the Competitive Pathway. Instructor: Rob Krepps.

 

Technical Development 2
This course builds on Technical Development 1 by focusing on the key technical skills for intermediate to advanced curlers. Registrants will learn about key delivery outcomes like line, weight, and rotation, and key sweeping outcomes like pressure, speed, and direction. Instructor: Rob Krepps.

 

Tactical Development 2
This course builds on Tactical Development 1 by focusing on the key tactical concepts for intermediate to advanced curlers. Registrants will learn about effective game plans and end plans, along with proven shot selection, shot planning, and shot management principles. Instructor: Rob Krepps.

 

Teaching Pedagogy 2
This course builds on Instructional Pedagogy 1 by focusing on principles associated with teaching intermediate to advanced curlers, both youth and adult. Registrants will learn how to best develop these curlers’ skills through the right mix of instruction, drills, and technology. Instructor: Rob Krepps.

 

Pro-Shop Retailing
This course focuses on the key aspects of running a successful curling pro-shop. Registrants will learn how to keep up on product innovations, maintain an appropriate inventory, price products strategically, and do effective customer fittings. Instructor: Bobby Ray.

 

Teaching Business Management

This course focuses on the key principles associated with operating a successful teaching business. Registrants will learn how to develop an effective marketing plan, get the most out of their teaching time, and maximize short and long-term profits. Instructor: Rob Krepps.

Additional Training

ACP Weekend 2A
This in-person training weekend gives Teaching Pro candidates the opportunity to learn from a group of experienced ACP Pros with Master Teaching Pro accreditation. Candidates will benefit from learning opportunities delivered both on the ice and in the classroom. 

 

Master Pro Seminar (Teaching)
This seminar takes the form of a panel discussion among a group of Master Pros with extensive teaching experience. Registrants will gain insight into building a successful career as a Teaching Pro and will be able to ask any questions that they have. Moderator: Rob Krepps.

 

Online Evaluation

Portfolio Project 2
This is the main evaluation leading to Teaching Pro Accreditation. It continues the documentation of takeaways and planned applications in relation to their Year 2 Courses and ACP Weekend 2A. They are then required to discuss their portfolio with a panel of three Master Pros. 

 

ACP Rules Test
Because ACP Pros are considered to be experts by club members and guests, they must have a thorough understanding of the Rules of Curling. This test is based on the most recent edition of Curling Canada’s Rules of Curling for General Play.
